Google might bring the Assistant Voice Match feature to Android TV operating system along with the other smart speakers and smart displays. Most Google apps by now have already received the dark mode update. However, there are still some apps that are still pending to receive the dark mode and Google’s word processing apps are among few of them. Telecom services provider Vodafone Idea will begin offering cellular service for Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) starting from June 12, 2020, i.e. today. Customers will now have the freedom to leave their phone behind and stay connected with just their Apple Watch.  Vodafone customers can now use One Mobile Number Service for their Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) and iPhone.

TRAI calls Paytm plea 'misconceived'

The telecom regulator TRAI has termed as "misconceived" the plea moved in the Delhi High Court by online payment platform Paytm alleging that telecom operators are not blocking "phishing" activities over various mobile networks. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has made the submission in an affidavit filed in the high court in response to the petition by One97 Communications Ltd, which runs Paytm. The matter was taken up by a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan which said the affidavit was not on record. The court also adjourned the matter to July 14 to go through the various replies filed by the Centre, telecom companies like Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Jio, and TRAI on the issue of phishing alleged by the Paytm.

Social media platform Twitter is set to change the way how people tweet. In a blog post, Twitter announced that it is introducing voice-based tweets. “Starting today, we’re testing a new feature that will add a more human touch to the way we use Twitter – your very own voice,” said the company in a blog post.
Twitter said that over the years users have had the option of expressing or “add your own flair and personality to your conversations” with videos, photos, gifs and extra characters.  “But sometimes 280 characters aren’t enough and some conversational nuances are lost in translation,” noted the blog post. Tweeting with your voice is not too different from tweeting with text, said Twitter. To use this feature, users will have to open the Tweet composer and tap the new icon with wavelengths.

Instagram will let makers sell their items in the application

Instagram is set to introduce a new feature that will allow creators to sell products within the app. The Facebook-owned photo sharing app revealed this in an official blog post. 
“ Today, we're announcing new commerce eligibility requirements that expand access to Instagram Shopping to more types of businesses, including creators that want to connect with shoppers and sell their merchandise on Instagram,” said the company in a blog post. The new feature will help small businesses to make a foray into e-commerce. Instagram said that “Whether you are a candle business making a foray into e-commerce, a musician selling merch or a food blogger expanding into your own cookware line, any eligible business or creator account with at least one eligible product can use shopping tags to drive people to their website to make a purchase.”

Google includes Business Messages in Maps and Search

Internet search giant Google has expanded the functionality of messaging a business in Google Maps and Search.
“Today we’re expanding Business Messages in Maps and Search to support all kinds of businesses, and giving them the ability to integrate Business Messages directly with their customer service platforms,” said Google in a blog post. Google has introduced new smart replies, visual product carousels, among other things to make it easier for business to talk to their customers. Google also claims that it will offer a smooth transition from automated replies to a customer service agent, “so that it's not disruptive when the customer messages a business.”
The internet search giant has already partnered with several organisations such as Woolworths, Walmart, etc to try the updated Business Messages functionality. Among this, there is also India’s MyGov.

Internet search giant Google has rolled out a new feature called ‘verified calls’ that will inform users about the incoming calls by asking businesses to provide certain information.
According to a report by Android Police, the verified calls feature is different from call screening as the latter can be initiated by the user on any incoming call, however, the former needs to come from “businesses that have gone through Google's approval process. When a call that meets the criteria is placed from an approved business, the user will see the business name and logo, as well as the reason for the call.” On its support page, Google said that verified calls feature is turned on by default. However, if users want to turn it off they can by opting out any time.

In another bid to protect the hearing of users, Apple is set to introduce a feature in the latest iOS update — iOS 14 — that will tell how loudly they are listening to the music on their AirPods.
According to a report by CultofMac, it will be an optional feature which means that only those who would want to track will be able to if they go above the maximum safe level of 80dB, which is the recommended level as per the World Health Organization (WHO).
The feature will appear in the form of an icon in the Control Center, says the report. Users will have to go to the Settings app and add the Hearing icon to the Control Center.
